What is Standing Seam?

Standing seam metal roofing gets its name from the distinctive raised seams that run vertically along each panel. Those aren't just for looks — they're the key to a roof that stays watertight for decades.

Unlike exposed-fastener roofing where screws penetrate the metal (and eventually leak), standing seam panels use a hidden clipping system. The panels expand and contract with temperature changes without stressing the fasteners. No holes through the metal means no leak points.

Preparation

We schedule the job, order your custom-sized panels, and arrive with all materials and equipment. Old roofing is torn off and the deck is inspected and prepared.

Installation

Panels are cut to size on-site and installed using our proven clipping system. Flashing around vents, chimneys, and edges is carefully detailed to prevent leaks.

Final Inspection

We walk through the completed project with you, explain maintenance requirements, and provide your warranty documentation. We don't leave until you're satisfied.

Most residential projects take 3-5 days from start to finish. Weather can affect this timeline — we won't install in rain or extreme cold. We'll give you a detailed schedule during your consultation.
Not at all. This is a common misconception. With proper installation and attic insulation, standing seam metal roofs are no louder than any other roofing material. The insulation in your attic does the sound dampening, not the roofing itself.
We can in some cases, but we don't recommend it. Removing the old roof allows us to inspect the deck, replace any damaged wood, and ensure proper installation. Installing over shingles traps moisture and can void warranties. The extra cost is worth it for a proper job.
We stock 12 standard colors including charcoal gray, bronze, black, hunter green, and slate blue. Special order colors are available for an additional charge. We can provide samples during your consultation so you can see the colors in natural light on your property.
